The small colt of only ten months of life experience wandered through the rocky terrain of the canyon. His deep brown eyes were directed at the ground as he wandered through the vast area. Hooves pounded against the ground with a regular beat as his small figure eased through two rocks. He didn't bother going around them because he was tired and it was easier to just squeeze through them. He was small enough that things harder for grown horses were a ton easier for him. He was tired, and needed to find some shelter before the darkness set in and he was left alone out here.
Auds stood tall atop his brown cranium as the hollow sound of a wolf's cry broke through the silence of the canyons. He shuddered and picked up his pace a bit, to as much of an extended canter as he could get. His long spindly legs were tired and he was starting to get cold as a chilly wind swept through the canyons.

Katie tightened grip on the stone gray mare's reins. The quarter horse snorted, and pranced underneath her.The "mare" was litterly,an filly. She was three, and Katie had trained the gray herself.Stormy's finly carved dial shot skyward, ears pricked tall. What is it sweety?Katie asked, then her eyes fell upon the colt. Her figures graced the rope tethered thightly to the chestnuty saddle.Yes.She pulled a simple quick release knot, and kicked Dark Stormshine into a full blown gallop. The quarter horse was built for speed. She sped toward the colt.Katie threw the twirling rope, awaiting to see the outcome.

Darian's ears flickered as he heard the sound of pounding hooves break through the silence. He pushed forward at his fastest run, but the older horse caught up to him easily and he panicked. A shrill cry escaped his lungs as the rope looped around his neck. He cried out and tried to back away and squirm out of the hold of the vine that strangled him. "Get this off of me!" he cried in fear to the other horses and tried to run from them, but the rope restricted his movement.

Darian pulled the rope tight between them as he felt the filly pull back. He lowered his ears against his crown as she said that the human wouldn’t hurt him at all. "Really? You say this and yet she put this thing around my neck?" he protested angrily as he kicked his hooves high into the air and pulled tightly against the rope, even as she complained about him pulled too tightly.

She's not going to hurt you!If you see,if you stop pulling, you will not be forced to follow me back to the Double A.Stormy growled as the rope tightened around the saddle horn.Good girl, easy.Katie cooed, stroking Stormy's neck in encouragment. This colt would be a perfect match for her new Quarter Horse filly who looked abou the same age.

"The Double A?" he questioned as he stopped pulling, but still held his grounds away from the horse and the human. His dark brown eyes glared at her and kept himself at a good distance away from her. He didn't know what the Double A was, but he wanted to know. His body shivered a bit as another cold breeze swept across the canyon lands.

Darian looked at her and shuddered again. It was getting colder out here the longer he stayed alone... and some place warm sounded good to him. He was freezing. Snow was much disliked as well and if he was left out in the snow when it started... Well, you might guess what thoughts ran through his mind. The colt dropped his head and watched her with careful eyes as he neared the two of them with hesitant steps. He avoided stepping over the rope as he stopped closer to them, but not too close. He shook his cranium roughly, trying too make the rope less tight since he'd forced it to tighter around him.
